I'm Graham Bacon. And I'm here to talk to you about Mobit, our new flagship product, which is a mobile auditing platform. It can take any paper format form and translate it onto an electronic device.

Question “What industries is Mobit targeted at, and how will it benefit them?”

Mobit is targeted towards industries that require absolute accountability, as well as real time information published on their systems Such industries as utilities, housing associations, local authorities, police, NHS and many others.

The benefits to them are that their mobile workforce can send data to the central office, or any other office, in real time and have that stored there, as opposed to having to go through the drudgery of filling out a paper form and sending it back in where it can be lost, misinterpreted, etc.

Question “Do images taken with Mobit use GPS tracking?”

Most images taken with mobile devices these days are tagged with information as to the time and date it was taken, its very hard to forge this, and we just add on the extra information of the GPS, as to where it was taken.

Question “What would be the main benefit for a company using Mobit?”

A company using Mobit can have streamlined processes, they can have the absolute accountability that the data is sent in real time and stored on the servers and cannot be deleted from the servers once sent, so they can always go back to that information if there's any litigation cases. If there's any cases where they have to make sure a job is done by a specified date, it proves they have done that. Essentially it provides proof for them of what has been done and proof of what has happened.

Question “Would Mobit improve efficiency?”

It would improve efficiency by removing paperwork. Many organisations have field workers who are filling out paperwork to send back to their offices that has to be input by data entry teams. So you have the efficiency that it is immediately processed by the people in the field and goes straight onto the servers. You cut out that element of human error and you also cut the cost of a data entry team.

Question “What kind of devices does Mobit work on?”

Mobit is actually targeted to a very broad range of devices unlike our competitors, where most devices in this field are targeted at the .NET based devices, your classical PDA's. Whereas Mobit has been designed from the ground up to work on smart phones, PDA's and Blackberries. Its very likely if your phone has been made in the last 3 years that Mobit will run on it. And I'll demonstrate Mobit to you.

Here, we have the login screen for the server side of Mobit. In this video, we are going to log into our test account and demonstrate to you, how to build an audit, and send it to a mobile device. And from a mobile device, how to fill out the audit, and send it back to the server. Please bear in mind that the software is in beta testing and things might change in the final version. With that aside, let's log in.

The first section we have is the submitted reports page when a user submits a report in the field, this is where it ends up. As you can see, we have some test data in here already. Another section that is linked in to the submitted reports page is the graphing section, within this section there are some basic reporting tools that an administrative user can use to build reports with.

The main section we are looking at today however is the report template. Here you can see, we have some dummy audit forms already created. We are going to go ahead and build a new audit form called 'video demo'

You will notice a box next to the template name for 'require a grouping string'. This is to allow an audit to be grouped with another audit. For instance, if a worker in the field was to go to a site and make an excavation, then another user was to visit that same site and reinstate it, both reports would be linked in the submitted reports section. In this demo, we are going to go ahead and select grouping.

Next we are going to add some fields to the template. So, first name as a text input. Surname, again a text input. Next we'll add a date of birth field, and change that to a date box. Now we'll include some images there as well. And we'll have the user take 2 pictures. And finally, we'll put in an option box and add 5 options, Option 1, 2 ,3 ,4 and 5.

And then select the add template button, and it's saved. As you can see, it has now been added to the template list. Now that we have created our report template, the next thing we have to do is add it to a group, select manage group templates, then add 'video demo' to that group, I'm also going to add it to group 2 as well.

After a template has been made available to a particular group, it then needs to be made available to mobile users within that group. So I'm now going to select manage handsets, and add the video demo template to my handset.

With this now done, lets move onto the mobile device to see the template in action.

Here we have the mobile application on a mobile device. The particular device we are using to demonstrate the application today, is the Nokia 5800. The reason for this is that the Nokia 5800 had all the features we required during development.

As you can see, there are two options available to us on the main screen, start a new audit or exit the application. A third option does become available to users if they have a form saved that could not be sent earlier for any particular reason.

I'm going to open up a new form, the application now connects to the internet and downloads the forms from the server. As you can see, we have the video demo audit available to us, I am going to select that, and the application once again connects to the internet and downloads the required fields. Here you can see we have the grouping field mentioned earlier when making the audit, I'm now going to select that and give the grouping field the name video demo, and then I'm going to go on and complete the rest of the form.

And now I'm going to take some pictures, and I'm going to import the pictures, into the application by selecting the import button, and done.

And finally, I need to select an option, and I'm going to select option 5. And then all we need to do is select the send button. The application once again connects to our servers via the internet and uploads the data. And as you can see, the form has now been successfully sent. And we now go back to the server side to see the results of this audit

And as you can see here, we are now back on the server on the submitted reports screen. At the top, you can see our audit 'video demo' has been sent successfully. If I double click on this, it opens up a new window, and we can see the results of our audit. At the bottom here, there are various buttons for exporting the audit in different formats such as XML and XLS files. I'm just going to go ahead, and close this.

And that concludes our video demo of Mobit today, and we hope to do more demo's in the future demonstrating the more advanced features of Mobit. For now, thank you for watching and goodbye.
